Abu Dhabi 2015

December 9 to 14 we headed south for the F1H2O race in Abu Dhabi again. It was 2 years since I was there the last time and we had a blast this time also!

Thi time we where VIP invited by Erik Stark (#28) now driving for the Emirates F1 Team. Super Nice!

KEP's FE-4SL (P-Limited) Freebie


NOTE! The KEP's FE-4SL is discontinued. Build the KEP's FE4S V2 instead!

Freebie drawing of a P-Limited 4-cell LiPo Brushless in-runner Outrigger Electric Hydroplane.

Note, this KEP's FE-4SL is a P-Limited 4 cell outrigger that is mostly run in the US with a spec motor (Aquacraft 36-56-2030KV). The boat can be fitted with motors with physical dimensions of 36 mm diameter and 56-65 mm long.

If you plan to use a bigger motor then that there is now an P-Open class rigger also called KEP's FE-4S. That suits motors of either 36 or 40 mm diameter and up to 74 mm long. Click HERE for info of that.

Naviga FSR WC 2015 Results


Early August we raced the Naviga FSR World Championships in Görlitz Germany. I will not make a long report as basically the race was "crap" for me... Mostly due to the fact that I did not manage to get a decent race pace on my boats in the very, very hot weather. Basically my boats where too fast for the very low oxygen levels and  the heat-build up was to much on my boats.

But there where lots of other racers that did very well in the hot conditions and I congratulate them ALL! :)

Third test of prototype KEPs FE-4S

At the recent World Champs in Görlitz I tested the new prototype KEP's FE-4S for the first time. In total it has been run three times and this is the third run with Micke behind the wheel.

KEP's T2-45 testing



Here's a short video of me driving the KEP's T2-45 (still prototype) during some testing in preparation for the upcoming Naviga World Championships in Görlitz Germany. Note, the boat is not intended or optimized for this type of smooth water run by yourself type of "racing" - it's made for heatracing with other boats. In the clip I do about 10.9-11.5 second laps but I guess if I would have gone flat out it would do low 10's I think (Naviga course).

The prop is a Sholund 1657 (need to check the specs, but its heavily cut-down in area), pipe is a Cooper 45 with add-on "Naviga" muffler (its a Wella hairspray can). Fuel is 60% nitro with 8% Klotz Benol (recin) and 8% Klotz Original Techniplate oil (same fuel-mix I use in 3.5).

KEP's T3-21 prototype testing #2



In comparison with the #1 clip, this second clip is with a slightly different version of the pre-production Hipex pipe (still @ 196 mm length) but it still does around 12.5 to 13s lap times wich is quite ok and a good set-up to start with.

The testing was done in Oxelösund as preparation for the upcoming Naviga World Championships in Görlitz Germany. Testing new "T3" sponsons with new turn fin and new rear ski design. Im also continuing to test the very nice V.S. SPEED 2101 marine engine that feels better and better. Also new is a new upcoming "parabolic" pipe and 180 deg manifold from Hipex that feels very smooth and race friendly (@ 196 mm length).

In this clip its a bit too smooth water as this is not a run by yourself type of boat - its a heatracing boat that really comes alive in race water with other boats.

The prop used was a Sholund H6 that Ive not used as a race prop the last couple of years (saving the race props to the worlds). It has a 2.9 COB pitch and 3.33 cup. The dia is just over 45 mm (I think). The carb used is the first generation Zoom 21. Fuel is 60% nitro with 8% Klotz Benol (recin) and 8% Klotz Original Techniplate oil.

New VS PTO .21 Powerhead Engine

The new and exclusive VS Powerhead .21 marine engine is based on the very powerful O.S. Speed 21ZX-R on-road racing engine and is an extraction of the world famous O.S. Max precision and technology together with an additional 'Rody' touch and development.

Features:

  • A specific 'Rody' shaped crankshaft with left threaded thread so the flywheel will not unscrew itself.

FSR-H & FSR-O Results Swedish Champs #2 2015










Here is the results from the Swedish Nats Race in FSR-H & FSR-O held in Oxelösund beginning of June.

The race was good but the weather on Saturday was a bit cold. On Sunday it was fine weather but even more windy.
